What doesn't make sense is what that has to do with the fall of the Berlin wall and global warming regulation- which is, you may or may not remember, what you said

I remember what I said. What I don't understand is what you think I said - did you think I was implying some mysterious cult ritual where the former socialists made a solem pact to invent global warming?

It makes sense that socialists, who are concerned with the community we all share, would be green

Right-wingers, believe it or nor, are also concerned. What marks the socialists out as different is that mind-set that says concern for the community is to be expressed through governmental regulation on a world-wide scale. They USED to have world socialism as the band-wagon to ride towards this goal. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, they were homeless for a while, but now the imminent crisis of global warming has provided them with a brand-new bandwagon. And even better! Because no one can oppose the rightness of their cause without being branded a nutter and a heretic!

Everyone must bow down to the new creed. Whether the science to support their extraordinary claims is really there or not. As Mike Hulme has explained, this crisis calls for "post-normal" science.
