Capitol Police protect Pelosi

By Michelle Malkin
March 22, 2007

The Capitol Police couldn't or wouldn't stop anti-war thugs from vandalizing government property in January.

But they made sure to protect Nancy Pelosi's office from anti-war protesters who wanted to embarrass her today:

<<< Four members of the anti-war group Code Pink were arrested outside the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Thursday afternoon, following an announcement that they would seek to take over the office.

The group’s members had planned to hold a symbolic “Pin the war on the Donkey” demonstration at Pelosi’s office to show their frustration with the Democratic leadership’s inaction on ending the war in Iraq.

However, Capitol Police prevented the taping of a drawn donkey to the wall.

Code Pink members were crying outside Pelosi’s office. When asked why, Rae Abileah, 24, said she was crying out of “outrage that this is all we can get from the Democrats,” referring to the Iraq supplemental funding bill, scheduled for a vote Friday. >>>

People should actually just *listen* to Gore when he talks on this subject without the distraction of visuals or glitz.

Like his comments about the baby's fever. Sheesh. He sounded pretty dumb.

I'm afraid I have no regard for Gore's *efforts*in this area.
I think he's just cashing in and doing it in the most elitist way possible. This *carbon credits* thing really *discredited* him in my eyes forever.

It's too bad that the people who lionize him don't really appreciate that his *carbon credits* scam is the absolute epitome of rich liberal arrogance, i.e., the policies they advocate are for the masses but don't apply to them.

IMO, this arrogance is insulting beyond description.

So does Gore ever talk about *slash and burn* farming in tropical countries? According to this website, a quarter of the world's carbon emissions is generated by such practices:

When farmers in tropical countries use "slash-and-burn" agriculture to clear forested land, their fires loft vast amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, intensifying global warming. Worldwide, this kind of land use accounts for almost a quarter of the planet's annual CO2 emissions. If this burning and deforestation could be reduced – or avoided altogether – it could slow climate change.
