Governments can do anything they like and make anything they like illegal. <How can they make it illegal to build your own house? > They also deem anything they like to be legal, or illegal, and make after the fact laws to justify it if they so choose.

What's amazing is that the sheople vote for more and more of such muck year after year.

Libertarian votes around the world are at low levels. People do NOT like freedom. Certainly not for other people. Which paradoxically [and they can't understand this point] means themselves. Concentrated benefits and diffuse costs is the failure of democracy = voting to take things from other people.

It's still just red in tooth and claw jungle rules, but with a veneer of civilization to decide who gets to do the taking. The minority affected, usually, just gives up and accepts being robbed, restricted, harassed and harmed, because the alternative of being singled out and attacked by the legal processes and forces is worse than the pain and suffering inflicted by the mindless mob.

Approved carpentry people will be the only ones allowed to swing a hammer. Already anything more than a portable chicken coop has to have a building permit and all the drama associated with that. Of course you can't have a chicken coop either. Well, you can, but you can't have chickens in it!
