Looks that way to me. There's lots of headroom and todays slides showing that Intel is overclocking Penryn (this is a FEATURE) Core 1 when Core 2 is offline says they are seeing the same thing in 45nm as in 65nm.

Why? Have you seen the comparative AMD/Intel price/performance curves? It shoves AMD down to about mid-Intel performance leaving the high end to Intel.. Look for much more of that @ 45nm, especially if AMD fails to get 45nm working (def: working: not same frequency, lower power). You might also note that Intel is sacrificing TDP for speed (b/c their process has it). Why? B/C they can. Otherwise, you would see speeds slightly above AMD and MUCH lower power.
