Chen suggested that the People's Bank of China step up its efforts at soaking up liquidity by issuing more bills and further increasing banks' required reserves.

Am I understanding that statement correctly? They will increase their money supply, ALONG with requiring great bank reserves? I don't see this leading to a stronger Yuan.

Hmmm... Smoke and mirrors? Or am I misreading this?
