A new war will really be the height of stupidity. We aren't even able to maintain the old war in the style we would like to- and a new one? Madness. If this happens, I would think the printing presses will have to be put on triple speed, because the only way to pay our way out will be to print money. Maybe it's all talk. I don't think we have the resources for much else.

That source is Israeli. Israel desperately wants us to get into a war with Iran. They see the Iraq quagmire running out of steam, and need something new to keep us in their neighborhood, to have the Great Satan standing right behind the Little Satan, with all his guns. They'd LOVE to have us beat up Iran for them.. I'm sure Rove is telling Bush that a war with Iran will get all these investigations off the front page and turn him back into a "war President". It's probably the ONLY way to avoid being a lame duck for the next two years. Bush may believe it, but I don't think the American people will believe anything this President says. If he goes to war with Iran, impeachment WILL happen.

<iEarlier, DEBKAfile quoted intelligence sources in Moscow as predicting that a US strike against Iranian nuclear installations codenamed Operation Bite has been scheduled for April 6 at 0040 hours. Missiles and air raids will conduct strikes designed to be devastating enough to set Tehran's nuclear program several years back. Two things, one - the source is Israeli, and they have been drumming the war drum. Two, the date and time to frigging minute. I am impressed. Why doesn't the US write big sign on Bush's forehead say where they are going to hit and with what.

Let 'em have it. We'd be doing them a favor...they thrive and dwell in a culture whose focal point is death. It's time to dismantle the tentacles that spread death and destruction throughout the ME. Secretly, Egypt, Saudi, Jordan, The UAE, and all the usual suspects would take delight. And, yes, Israel, too. It's of course not politically correct for Israel to participate but participate they probably will as Israel would be Iran's primary target. Never happen, though. Blair ain't Churchill and Bush ain't FDR. So we drift into Iranian hegemony where the definition of democracy is only spoken in silence in the streets of Tehran/Iran. lazarre
