Market is up. No one is going to war for 15 british sailors. Debka is always wrong and the left wing geniuses on this thread are using scare tactics. Those of us discussing the possiblity rate it as a long shot to a man. We are doing war game scenarios. When iran feels the heat, they will let the 15 go long before the bullets fly.

If we go to war over 15 British sailors that could well have been in Iranian waters America would revolt. WE'RE sick of the war in IRAQ. The LAST thing we want is another stupid, dumbass war with IRAN.

Imagine if we or the Brits had picked up 15 IRANIAN sailors in OUR waters! They'd be on their way to Gitmo, never to be seen again.

Just such a damn shame too as the provocation is there but there seems to be no willingness on the part of Iran to compromise much less talk to the British.

What about the Geneva Convention and the rules against displaying pictures of captured soldiers? Iran has clearly violated them. Which raises the question - is there an agreed upon penalty? If you break the Geneva Conventions, what is supposed to happen to you?

At the very least the UK should announce that as a result of Iran breaking the Geneva Conventions with respect to the captured soldiers, they no longer feel obligated to extend the provisions of the GV to Iranian military.
