Not to mention the thousands of anti-shipping missiles they've bought from the Chinese and Russians. They have a LOT of coastline along the Persian Gulf, and many small missile-capable patrol craft. I doubt supertankers have any defense at all, and would probably burn ferociously.


If I were the Iranians, I'd have had divers tethering mines to the Gulf floor, capable of being released by remote control. One more thing to consider.

what iranian navy?...they'd be the first targets and gone within minutes---subs and all.... down to the bottom of the deep blue ( ship wrecked cluttered ) Gulf.

Sorry, but for better or worse, we have the stuff that makes it all happen ( and please don't extrapolate that into a wider breach---we're talking just torpedoes, here, for now ).
