Unless you want to suggest events of 1979 are a pretext for war now. If you do, I can't say I agree with you.

You are not referring to the country we wanted to give weapons for hostages to in the 80s, are you? Wasn't this after 79? And as a country we were so grateful, we named an airport in DC after the man who tried to do it.

Steve, I would go back a little further to around 1953 when we set-up a coup to overthrow the legitimately elected government in Iran, then we installed our "Shah" who ruled them as a tyrant. That's why in 1979, they took back their country and still hate us for always interferring in their country. Iran never invaded a country for hundreds of years and has no intent on landing on our shores, they want to be left alone as we do.
