Death rate 2003......4...x ........ 100% 2004....32...xxx ........ 75% 2005....42...xxxx ....... 40% 2006....80...xxxxxxxx ..... 69% 2007....33...xxx................66% Half way through 2007 and only 33 dead. Maybe 2006 was the peak and so many birds are now dead or immune that H5N1 is losing a place to roost, so to speak, and is fizzling out to a low-level less virulent beast. With a death rate of 2:3 it's still very fatal. Mqurice
