done either by Iran or by its proxy,

so how does one explain the following ? :

- The Afghan Mujahiddeen were a US proxy against the Soviet Union.
- Saddam was a US proxy against Iran.

- Yet, both these nations have made life very difficult and inflicted casualties on US , Allies, NATO troops there.
