Thread Subject states, in capital, letters: WE ARE BEYOND COLLAPSE. No world is going to hell here. The model is based on a set of circumstances. Ii is not a theory. It is an analysis of an entity that is there.

My points should not be construed as looking to the entity and trying to denigrate it. Far from it! It looks to the model and shows its resilience. That 40 years passed and still stands as it is today its is a compliment.

You may be playing for Elmat an America that no longer exists. It is natural that people have the way to see themselves -and I'm not saying an Aussie, Canadian or German would act differently- based on a set of circumstances that no longer are valid.

French people thing they are all descendants from the Gauls! German people think they are all honest, hard working and organized... Brazilian thinks they are laid back and fun loving...

The set of circumstances that made up the old US, no longer are valid. Wall along the Rio Grande, tough visa conditions...

Free? Make money? The guy with a truck of mobile phones is arrested because so much second hand phones are a sign he is a terrorist...

The attractiveness of a model: If you come from Sierra Leone and Bangla anything is attractive. Zimbabweans flock to South Africa. Cameroonians and Chadian to Nigeria...

Some parts of Brazil -ask the region they come from- and some other places, an affluent places has a lot of attractiveness.

We need to discuss that once we meet in DC.

The belief the world is going to hell is mostly nihilist youngsters. It is not the old guys who escape into drugs.

The difference is we old guys cannot be fooled

I am sure Enron employees were thinking and saying great things about their company before the collapse... Look if the top management is selling their shares in the company.

>If I were to tell them -- hey, back in China and Brazil and Jamaica and Sierra Leone and Bangladesh and Iran and Saudi Arabia and France and England and Ukraine and Russia etc., etc., etc., the government and the intelligentsia say the US is declining and doesn't have a good future -- they'd just laugh.>

Hello Ilaine, I am impelled to respond to you, bullet by bullet, so that folks are offered two perspectives on many issues

<<The American paradigm is to get out of the way of these people and let them do their own thing.

That really hasn't changed in hundreds of years.>>

... are you talking about just on-shore or off-shore as well?

Either way, not true, and you ought to know that better than most. The people are different. The political system is effectively different. The wisdom level is different. The values are materially different. And there are way too many lawyers.

<<It is impossible -- and by this I don't mean merely difficult -- to predict a future which results from the individual actions of millions or billions of human beings, each acting according to their subjective perception of their own self interest.>>

... it then must be the case that you believe martin armstrong made a bunch of lucky guesses in a role, more or less, up and down Message 23208585 , as does maurice ?

As to this ...

<<America was, and is, populated by people who come here to make a better life, live free, make money, buy a house, raise a family, and live in peace>>

... I dunno; you have rights and they have been and are eroded by the men you thought you voted in, but placed there by one of two effectively similar political machineries;

You get taxed heavily, but believe you can depend on gimmicks to uphold values and build savings, while actually being impelled to take up loans (cash 'surplus' taken away as tax, code-driven toward debt, then suffer inflation dilution on left over cash savings and inflation diluted by housing inflation, roughed up by property tax inflation all along the way, and then finally insulted by capital gain tax, etc);

You are anything but free, and certainly not amoungst the top three heritage.org

(as we heard about #5 NZ from Maurice, and so, being ranked as a NZ-beater #4 can only be treated as a fixed mention with no substantive meaning)

... and you have no habeas corpus

... and you are hardly ever at peace

<<If I were to tell them -- hey, back in China and Brazil and Jamaica and Sierra Leone and Bangladesh and Iran and Saudi Arabia and France and England and Ukraine and Russia etc., etc., etc., the government and the intelligentsia say the US is declining and doesn't have a good future -- they'd just laugh ... The belief that the world is going to hell is the belief of old men, who are bitter and disappointed in life. "Things were better back in the old days" say the old, bitter men. They always did say that, and probably they always will say that. Such is the fate of old, bitter men.>>

You may laugh, but folks in HK are truly smirthful when any from your shores start up as you do ... it is simply hilarious. But we get very few from your shores having the nerve to go off as you do, because HK is numero uno #1 in the Universe in FREEDOM, capitalize, and #1 numero uno in NET WORTH, bolded, and thus some of us feel naturally more qualified to judge on the merits of claims from elsewhere.

In any case, for a small place, we certainly are crammed full of folks from all over, all looking to enjoy what folks here can apparently do, and make do, with nothing, and make do well.

BTW, the world is going in a bad direction, because effectively two camps of uneducated but well trained sheeple are intent on clashing in a big way.

Recommendation: be bullish on gold, it is the real thing, and just about every activity, however ordinary, goes better when gold price goes its natural and ordained direction, as coca cola goes with pizza
