S&P is higher today than when Bush took office. Your point is invalid.

And remember average market returns are 10% per year.
Do you EVER fact check???
A simple application of the rule of 72 proves: If the interest rate is x%, the capital will double in 72/x periods. That means the averages should double in 7.2 years for a 10% interest rate. Or they should have increased 2^5=32 times since 1971 (36 years ago). On March 30, 1971 the averages were
DJIA: 903.39
NAZ: 105.44
SP500: 100.26

On March 30, 2007, they were
DJIA: 12354; should be 29908 by rule of 72 {Note this is more than 3 times the high in Clinton bubble.)
NAZ: 2422; should be 3374 by rule of 72
SP500: 1421; should be 3206 by rule of 72. (Note this is double the high in Clinton bubble.)

A few other problems: Note that disposable personal income has continued to rise, almost doubling under Bush.

Note that GDP growth slowed WHILE CLINTON WAS STILL PRESIDENT and and resumed its previous slope under Bush.

Note the market averages peaked under CLINTON, NOT Bush!

Do you think Federal Reserve policy might have anything to do with the economy and market behavior? Does this tell you anything?

Or this? Remember that wild run-up in the NAZ starting about 1995?

Bush took office on January 20, 2001. Keep that in mind!

Yeah, I know you refuse to admit there was a stock market bubble in the late '90s. Those who will not learn from history are condemned to repeat it. Keep that in mind too.
