There's a type of chiropractic which utilizes primarily accupressure which worked great for me over the years. But sometimes shoulder pain is unfortunately something torn which might require medicine or, worse.
A good chiropractor would refer that kind of injury to a joint or bone specialist, just as a good MD would refer certain types of injuries to a chiropractor. Unfortunately you don't encounter those docs very often.

A lot of the treatments from the various doctors, of course depends on what they were taught. As the old saying goes, "If the only tool you've got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
