<<So all that happens is an increasing list of cases before courts in various countries. Take the case in London which no-one has mentioned for some time. It was filed over a yeara ago and so far I haven't seen a post indicating a hearing date. Whoever loses will go to the Appeal Court...another couple of years if its dragged out carefully and then possibly to he higher Court after that. So goodnight to the London case till maybe 2011.>>

I suppose your - shall we call it the 'protracted ant-climactic scenario', is one possibility and, as you say, Q would eventually prevail by virtue of its accelerated "inventiveness". Unlikely that Nokia would just sit back and watch itself being innovated into irrelevance - just a matter of time before they cut a deal. Your scenario also seems a far cry from the "Armageddon" PJ is hoping to avoid. In an "all out patent war", litigation will be hotly pursued on multiple fronts and some of those will proceed on a much more expeditious basis than you suggest. A judicial decision (injunction) will come down somewhere sooner rather than later and will thereby assume greater weight in all the other battlefronts. Again a "deal", albeit not necessarily in Q's favor, would be a matter of time.

If these antagonists don't come to terms (or Nokia extends) by next week, I think the war is on. I suspect it won't be a cold war but wdik. Again, pure speculation. Kind of exciting and scary, just like early 1999 don't you think? Lets hope it works out as well.
