EU’s new Central Asia Policy and its Energy Dimension

Central Asian republics’ desire to optimize their benefits through increasing the number of players in this “New Great Game”. It can be interpreted that EU’s wish to be active in the regional policies is an indication of increasing competition in the region.

Good for the Iranians. You failed to mention BIG oil locally are fleecing Americans big time. Also you failed to mention that the US government is not doing a thing about reducing the country's oil consumption.

I think you are partially correct in your assessment. yet I believe it's more a collateral benefit than one of design.

The Iranian sword is slowly being returned to it's sheath and the price of crude is tumbling.....they could have carried this melodrama alot longer and kept crude at levels that would have shot beyond $75 within a week. Think of the millions of barrels they export each day; their coffers would have been swelled to a degree that would have made the mullahs cream in their gowns.

No, these guys prefer to wallow in blood rather than oil.
