Since MSNBC is a news network, it always seemed a bit ridiculous for them to be carrying Imus in the Morning. The irony is that Imus is a CBS radio show..same company that owns Comedy Central. So why wasn't he carried in the mornings on CBS owned Comedy Central? His show really is your basic morning radio talk show, often entertaining and often offensive.
The fact that so much hell was raised is probably because MSNBC is finally being taken somewhat seriously.
If he'd said those remarks on Comedy Central it wouldn't have raised nearly so much of a ruckus. Just imho.
(Now MSNBC will have to actually do some original programming in that time slot and, probably pay more for it too.. oh horrors :)
