We all need a good desensitizing. Crank up Reno 911, Chapelle's show, and Southpark.

Before this week I barely knew who Imus was and didn't know nappy was a racial word. I'd have been happy if it would've stayed that way.

But I am glad to know who Anna Nichol's baby's father is! You wouldn't believe the uproar in my office when that news came out.

Wayne, I was angry about him saying it, and I'm a fan. I think firing was at the far end of the punishment spectrum, but punishment was due. Attacks on politicians and actors don't bother me so much, though I do not believe that Hillary is Satan, as Imus always says. But going after those women, who didn't do anything to deserve his comments, was slimy. If someone on a sports show had called the U of Florida or Ohio State mens' basketball teams a bunch of flaming fairy prostitutes, I think the outrage would have been the same. And it would have been much louder than when Ann Coulter called John Edwards a faggot. John Edwards is out there and he's a tough guy, while Ann is obviously a money hungry mercenary. When she picked on the 9/11 widows, which include our late friend, John Meehan's wife, I thought she should have been banned for a year from the airwaves.

These kids are playing for their teams and have just hit the high point of their entire lives, for the most part.

If Imus was a true comedy show, I would not have liked the comment, but would have cut it some slack. But he has serious commentators and politicians on the show, along with real news. Ditto for Ann Coulter. She at least pretends that some things she says are true. Don Rickles never did that.
