Rupert, JJ, "I also added some bans and issued a couple of suspensions.": Message 23367589

That was me quoting Admin Dave half a day after someone was banned on this OT thread.

Hope it's clear now neither JJ or I have the possibility to ban people on this OT thread, nor the ability to unban them. The only way to get unbanned here on the OT thread is by talking to the admins. Talking this over any further will have no value as it's a simple fact.

Regards,

Rink

Things are not perfect over there now, but it is actually going fairly well - topic-wise anyway.

Its a bit like Alice Through the Looking-Glass. First create a lot of bad feeling about the rules by an activist, constantly changing moderation policy which provokes many bad-tempered, but on-topic posts about it.

Then deal with that by declaring the subject of your moderation to be off-topic relegated to a different board. Then congratulate yourself on how on-topic the board now is.

Retire from the moderation without organising a proper vote for a successor (because the subject is off-topic).

Reading between the lines of your post, your main criterion for a moderator seems to be someone who will ban the people you don't like whom you label "troublemakers".

You're are right that I am not the man for you.
