The last he heard was "AMD not losing market share" from Austin. AMD employees get bad news from outside sources. Need to be VP and up to get to know the bad news internally.

All the VPs are in Sunnyvale.

After hearing Ruiz claim AMD was "very much emboldened and will hang in there" and would "fight like crazy" to retain market share how could Amato conclude otherwise?
