Great post. The way to battle this onslaught is politically, with the backing of folks like Gilder. His piece was spot-on. Companies which are being attacked - Q, MSFT, others - should band together, form an alliance, and lobby Congress to disband the ITC or limit its authority over patents. Effective legislation dealing with patent piracy should be passed. Innovation and creativity are the keys to America's long term survival as we cannot compete on cost and most manufacturing. Our national assets require protection, it's as simple as that. As far as the Q/NOK battle is concerned, the continual fighting of the war using dueling PRs is counter productive. It is almost as if the PRs are specifically designed to get the denizens of the SI Q boards riled up. vbg The war has to be fought at the highest political levels.
