I too, believe both can happen....and that the 2nd item, will happen. Too many people are vocal enough with the help of the media, that don't think it will happen. Not everyone is as crazy in this country as Rosie O'D, but she and others like Sheehan plant a seed of doubt. Then those folks that lean in that direction, go out of their way to try to confirm their belief system.

This is why the President of the US needs to let go of a bit of our Secret Info so that the people of the US can really understand the long term problems.

What he is currently doing is letting the House, Senate, some in State, some in the CIA, and some in the Pentagon, plus the NYT act as leakers.....

Every single one of those are such a poor substitute for actual facts.

I don't think that he will have to worry about the AQ and other murdering barbarian groups knowing something they shouldn't.

Most likely they already do know things they shouldn't. Just think, if Pelosi and group can go to the ME as OFFICIALS (not private citizens) of the Government, WITHOUT the Administration approving of the visit....what else is she (and the rest of them that went) really capable of....

Seriously, if the Islamic terrorists are smart they will avoid attacking us for a considerable time. Why risk attacks against the mainland USA that would likely reinvigorate the political fortunes of the Bush anti-terrorist hardliners?

September 11 and its aftermath stirred the pot and brought in lots of funding and recruits for the terrorists. IMO it makes vastly more sense for them to deploy these assets against soft targets in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, Somalia, Palestine etc. Much of Africa is ripe for the picking. Overthrowing Pakistan would be a tremendous prize because of the nukes there. I sure hope we have a good contingency plan for that.
