In October Bush signed legislation authorizing aggressive interrogation tactics -- but he didn't define them! Has there been a retraction of his or the DOD's guidelines, which still permit everything I've described?

Are the prisoners there held in virtual solitary confinement? Are they being force fed with BIG tubes? I understand that the isolation is much worse in the new section.

I'm grateful to the FBI, the Red Cross, and other organizations that have reported the torture that has gone on in our name in Guantanamo. I'm grateful to the brave soldiers at Abu Ghraib who did what they could to stop the torture there.

How long have your friends served at Gitmo?

In their opinion and yours, is the facility pristine with regard to principles of fairness and the rule of law?

Itomi posted this, reminding us of the large numbers of prisoners who were not captured in any type of hostile action against the US, and that many of them were captured by soldiers of other nations at a time when we were handing out bounties for captives! How pristine is that?

What do your Gitmo friends think about individuals being held indefinitely, in virtual isolation, without being charged with any crime? Do you think your friends would consider a place pristine that detained individuals who had been sold for money by Afghan warlords and bought by us?

Bill, IYO, did torture occur at Abu Ghraib? I'm trying to recall an exchange, and I think it was with you.
