No, I haven't noticed that- probably because it's not true.

Frequently these killings occur on school campuses (because young people are not as stable as old folks- and they have no real appreciation for death- which is not to say some older folks who should know better necessarily do) where it is advisable not to have kids running around with guns, but as you should know, they happen elsewhere.

This man obtained his weapon legally, and one of the guys involved was a former deputy- I'm sure he could have carried a gun. Many of the shooters who kill their colleagues at work do so on premises that have armed rent a cops, and I doubt they know who has carry permits at work. So I'd take out that "always" if I were you.

I would be willing to bet quite a tidy sum of money that a policy of having kids with guns on campus would lead to many more deaths per year than 33, but since most people are sane, we won't have to watch the deaths mount up so I can win that bet.

>>Didja ever notice that these mass shootings always happen to groups of people who are not allowed to be armed? Makes it convenient. If even one student caught up in this had been able to disrupt him, the outcome could have been much different.<<

Bill -

Convenient?

If this nut hadn't had a gun himself, the outcome could have been different. Speculating about what might have happened doesn't really prove the case for or against gun control. But I think it's quite clear, logically, that having fewer guns around in general would mean fewer events of this kind.

Bill:

I can see your point but you and I are of the same vintage... and did you ever think that our country would come to a point where students had to think of carrying a fire arm ?

We never locked cars... walked to and from school... no buses and that was for miles.

I have a gun . I took the NRA gun course and scored higher than the men in class. I carry a renewal permit..

This was only because of being on two wooded acres with no one around and people coming to the door at all hours of the night having gotten lost in the woods. It was scary...

So, I am not an anti gun advocate.. However, I look for answers without success as to the solution for the increase in crime in this country. This incident at VT is isolated but it may portend a more dangerous future. What I am referring to are the amount of gun crimes where I live here in Fl.
Every week someone has killed someone else..

Are we out of control... Would banning guns with exception of those who do what I did.... take the course, carry a permit be the only answer. I dunno.
