I found several references to the quote- none of them have the added material. Fox would have been all over that, had it been legitimate. Please don't try to tell me you believe this.

If you read all the material, you will see he was worried about the Muslim students' safety, and he wanted to do MORE than the Muslim community said was necessary. I can't believe you would try to defend this, and I don't think there's any "question" about it. I have, however- just for overkill- written to Mr. Davis and told him about the one place where you acn find the quote. I expect to hear back from him.

I think "Semi-News" says it all. It's not news, it's half the news, or half real, or whatever. But it's not real news.

It IS an interesting question! Let us know when you get a response, and I know Iktomi will do the same if and when she does. I am truly curious now, since it seems either a great many people in addition to the Tribune failed to report it , or one person (Semmens) added it. I think the former scenario is quite serious, also. It does seem as if some of the RW blogs would have been on this like white on rice if there were any evidence, though.
Where I disagree is the challenge that someone has to prove it wasn't said; it needs to be shown that it was.
