Virginia law, since 1996, allows juveniles as young as 14 who are accused of serious crimes to be tried as adults in circuit court. Surely you aren't suggesting that wouldn't apply to a juvenile in a case like this.

I called him an unhinged kid in response to a post that asserted his motive was political. Surely you and Lucky aren't arguing I was wrong and Bill's political motive theory was right because I called him a kid and he's an adult.

You aren't, are you? Because, you know, that would be ridiculous.

Even if his age were relevant, which it's not, "kid" is not a legal term. My using it here has no legal meaning whatsoever. It is a term people often apply to young folks without regard to legal definitions of adulthood - e.g. a "college kid."
