Yes, agreed. I think you're making my point, in fact. As evidenced by the multi-billion dollar purchases of software companies whose roadmaps have that 21st Century appeal --or, more likely, if it looked in any way threatening were the competition were to acquire it first. Do you recall dMarc, the company that Google acquired for some ridiculous price plus a rider of up to a couple of billion dollars when its platform bore fruit? I read yesterday that the two brothers who started the outfit quit before their platform proved itself in the radio advertising space. Other startups lucky enough to be taken out at an early stage find themselves becoming absorbed ever so quietly into the fabric of the acquirer, never to be heard from again. I should have those problems.
