The way to promote democracy is to be a shining example of one, something we have been failing at miserably lately, although the next two years may begin to turn that around. Israel is not an open democracy, it's a theocratic democracy, which is not a real democracy, but some selective bastard hybrid.

Ask Nadine.

I doubt YOU would, but I have no doubt that Nadine would sell the US down the river in favor of Israel without a second thought. Larry Franklin just proved this is a continual problem. The FBI seems aware of it. I'm sure they watch AIPAC closely, and that comforts me somewhat.

Its the hundreds of years of colonialism by europe that has caused this

The irony being, that the Arab lands of the Ottoman Empire had only about 50 years of colonialism, not hundreds. At that, it was caused not by Europe trying to destroy the Ottoman Empire, but rather trying to prop it up and keep it from imploding at the end of the 19th cventury, and catching the pieces when it dissolved after the Turks picked the losing side, then got attacked by the Brits and Greeks in the early 1920s.

Remember, when Euro colonialism/influence (it didn't start out as colonialism) of Arab countries started in the 19th century, oil had not been discovered. The only thing any Arab country had that Britain or France wanted was a strategic location.
