Yeah one in twenty may own but very few carry. Not one in twenty, but "more than one in twenty". A lot more. "Approximately 60 million Americans own at least one firearm and at least 45 million homes, nearly half of all U.S. households, have at least one firearm." johnrlott.tripod.com So its one in five in terms of people, and almost 1 in two in terms of households. In VA, its likely higher then the average for the country as a whole, esp once you get outside the DC metro area. Also there where a lot more than twenty people in the two buildings where people where attacked. If one in a hundred, or even one in 200, where carrying you would probably have had an armed person available.
