My bet is the 2008 debate will be whether we walk out chanting victory or never again. Its going to be tough to declare victory at this point. McCain has lost major credibility for trying to put lipstick on that pig. And its hard to see how things could possibly improve over the next two years. And we clearly learned nothing from the lessons of Viet Nam. I'm afraid the shoot-first crowd will always be with us. Our only hope for sanity to prevail is by keeping their hands off the levers of power.
