I recommended your post! Finally someone who addressed the actual question. I wish you had posted it to me rather than someone else.

I agree that you won't have 26000 guns. And I don't see a High Noon scenario. But I have worked with young people all my life in counseling and teaching positions, and raised two boys (both with Y chromosomes as far as I know)- and the words you quoted about "arming a large community" need to have "of young people" to be valid. IMO, that changes the landscape drastically. We already allow a very large community to be armed. The whole country. Nowhere have I ever advocated that this be changed.

What about arming the teachers? The admin? Make the requirements more stringent. Offer training at the school before you allow a gun, so that you have some assurance people know what they are doing.
Thank you for at least understanding it's not a blackwhite issue- all or none.
