Washington DC has very strict laws, they've done nothing in fact crime has continued to rise. It could prove an interesting experiment if they allow private ownership again after a few years of keeping stats. As opposed to this apple orange thing with germany and others The numbers don't support your position. Compared to the US, Germany has had hardly any school shootings. In fact, the US has had 73% of the world's school shootings during the past 100 years and the closer you get to the 21st century, the higher the percentage:Message 23481138 Even if in your perfect vision of the world all countries could ban guns, given a lathe, drill press and a milling machining one could produce very effective guns in their garage and sell them for a fortune. You simply can't ban things people want - they'll just find a way around the supply issue - econ 101. You mean what some Americans want. After all, to them, guns are as apple pie as well apple pie and baseball.re: they do work......that's why violent crime rates are lower in other first world countries I thought we had a culture of violence in our genes. You need to drop the fake arguments - you have not begun to prove a relationship between the enactment of strict gun laws in other countries to a drop in violent crimes. In fact several countries have had a rise in violent crime - England is an example of that. Who knows what causes the problem.......I suspect its a number of factors but what's galling is how much energy gun lovers put into making sure we have more than our fair share of guns. And as for England, even as there is a rise in violence in that country, their rate is still lower than the rate for the US. It must make you very proud!
