Uncle, conventional war is for fighting kings, emperors, dictators and other centralized alpha male dominance hierarchy territorial kleptocratic power structures. Those systems run from the centre, which is geographically located where the boss is located, whether is a palace in Baghdad, a big government building in Beijing, the White House, the Kremlin, the Elysee palace, or Helengrad's parliament buildings. Fighting Islamic Jihad has got not much to do with centralized authority, though Mecca does seem to be the locus of the ideology, like Rome was the centre for Papal power. But when an ideology is not geographically located, the centre can slip away to anywhere, everywhere and nowhere. The popes relocated to Avignon. Al Q relocated to Go- knows where and everywhere. I recommend fighting Islamic Jihad with a better ideology. The PNAC is not a better ideology. It might surprise you to learn it, but not many of the other 96% of humans think we owe the USA a living and should be run by the USA. On the contrary, you will find that it gets very tiring trying to force that ideology on everyone. It's called slavery. Yes, I know anyone who opposes unchecked USA rule of the world is a terrorist, but bunging them in Guantanamo Bay and otherwise bullying them is not a good look. In some parts of the world, slavery went out of fashion in the days of Wilberforce. bbc.co.uk Contrary to urban legend, the USA has not led the world in things like the emancipation of women and slaves. Martyn Luther King was alive in my day! I remember legal segregation, aka apartheid in the USA. Islamic Jihad is still keen to keep women pregnant, barefoot and in the kitchen, or swarming them as virgins in martyr's afterlife paradise. But what about Bill Clinton and the NUN? Great idea eh? We should start with the big picture. We can fill in the details later. We have been filling in the little details for a million years, evolving through bigger and bigger tribal entities and many attempts at very large scale countries, such as the USSR. Gradually, DNA which can't fit into large communities has been whittled away. Harsh, but that's what has happened. There is still plenty of it around but hopefully not enough to be a big problem. We are now ready for another attempt on a megascale political entity. The EU, USA, USSR, British Empire, Roman Empire, Genghis Khan, Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere have all been attempts at very large scale political integration. The more successful ones are based on Libertarian ideas, not repression and chimpoid alpha male confiscatory genocidal territoriality. Go on, check out a better idea than the current mess. The cost would be small. Barely a day's operations in Iraq to get the ball rolling. I'd be happier for my USA taxes to go towards that than continued carnage in Iraq. Bill Clinton would think it a lot of fun. Get on the phone to King George II. Heck, he'd think it an excellent idea because World Government is supposed to presage Armageddon, The Rapture, and the Second Coming. Mqurice
