Back in '95, I was going to ride up to Sitka with a client on his fishing boat. The planned on taking the inside passage.

They got delayed, and I had business in Anchorage, so I flew up there, then down to Sitka to meet them for the push across the Gulf of Alaska to Seward.

Turned out they were running so far behind, they went up the outside of Vancouver Island and across the mouth of the Queen Charlotte Straits.

Ran into 10'+ seas.

If I'd been along, I'd have wanted to take my own life. Even the experienced Alaska fishermen on the boat were puking their guts out on the trip North.

I was so seasick I was afraid I wouldn't die.

That really is how one feels while in the throes of it.
