Most of the bad core QCs might be sold as TCs (Tri Core) at a slight premium to DCs with 2MB L3.

Oh, Pete! Even *mas* has admitted this ridiculous marketing elephant will not come to pass, after insisting it would for the longest time.

Pete,

Most of the bad core QCs might be sold as TCs (Tri Core) at a slight premium to DCs with 2MB L3. Would you pay $10 more for an extra core at the same frequency?

I would. AMD would be getting revenue of DC + $10 vs. $0. It would be a good deal for both parties.

BTW, I doubt that AMD will do it. If Intel did it first, AMD marketing would copy it immediately. But AMD marketing is very shy about trying new concepts, without prior Intel "approval" of the concept.
