Just a thought on Fred Anderson's press release accusing Jobs of being complicit in the backdating.

I find it difficult to believe that Anderson could have gotten this far with the SEC investigation without already telling them everything that was in the press release. If he did fail to reveal that kind of information while being questioned, I would think that he would be in trouble for that right now.

Thus, I don't believe anything Anderson has to say at this point could possibly make a difference.

I agree completely. What he said was very soft, and probably just PR to try to save face. In my view, there's no getting around the fact that I believe Anderson is the professional who should have known what was going on (and I believe he did, as did every other CFO in the 100+ companies being investigated - everyone pretty much said, it's alright if you speed 5-10 mph over the speed limit - this is just the crack down at the end of the month to make the quota. The 3.5M is a big speeding ticket, but he's not being taken in for wreckless driving.).

Like I said before, who's the CFO? It's a financial issue and the CEO takes direction from the CFO on these matters, not the other way around. On this matter, there's no passing the buck, and the CFO failed in his professional responsibilities. Once this blows over, everyone will go back and recognize him for the 99 things he did right while at Apple.
