Not recognizing that fact was my greatest mistake going all the way back to the 2000 election. I remmeber cheney being the competent head of DOD In the Gulf War and a trusted advisor to Bush Sr. I dont know where he went off track--maybe it was the fat years at Halliburton--but he came into Bush 43 with an agenda that i still dont understand. One would never accuse cheney of being a neocon, but he used that ideology as a prop to push his anti-saddam, probably oil based agenda. He probably thought we would make out like bandits in iraq in an easy war and add millions of barrels to the worlds oil supply. Now he is in denial like his boss. What a fuckup. When he writes his mea culp and cries macnamara like tears i will give him the same short shrift i gave Mac.
