"WOuld I stick needles in some stranger's eyes? I have no idea. The point is that I am not in favor of allowing me to make that decision in that moment, or allowing it to become the norm for acceptable behavior."

Thats all i was trying to get X to say, when i first quesstioned her years ago. Like i said, i would do anything to save kids, any kids and if there was a priced to be paid, i would pay it. I understand the defense of the constitution argument. I never said throw out the Constitution. I was talking about human reaction in a time of crisis where lines might be crossed. For me, i think of Dr. King and how he went to jail with dignity when i violated some stupid law in the south. This is different i know--const isnt some stupid law and if one crosses the line, he/she should pay. But cross it i would.

I don't know that I have ever seen a political topic improved by making the subject personal. People always reason better in the abstract. When they get their emotions all tangled up in the topic people tend to get kooky. I don't get the point of indulging in kookiness- I mean what do you learn from that?

Most of us who realize that life is about playing the odds, hope that the odds favor the greatest good for the greatest number. Needling eyes, and ticking time bomb situations are not like to produce good odds for the majority. IMO, of course.
