You dont mean that Karen. We all care deeply about what happens here. I think where the neocons went wrong was to think we could magically succeed at nation building this time around. I made my mistake by extrapolating what went on in bosnia and then serbia. Remember Hackworth and the body bags that were supposed to occur when we bombed belgrade. Well the iraqis werent the serbs. The mideast is not central europe. Todays islam is not todays christianity and we were wrong about what happened in iraq. Some of the folks who were right like Ed alwsys made strong argments. Many are just sylly like our resident slyvestor. But just as in vietnam we end up in a bad place. Americans die in great numbers but our influence diminishes. On the right we fear the al quaeda dominoes when US departure might lead to exactly the opposite event as the sunnis eat their own terrorists. Can you imagine an angry bin laden lashing out at the socialist baathists and tribal elders who enter into a deal with the iranian devils for oil revenue while screaming death to the foreigners, meaning al quada? World has changed on us but bush refuses to adapt and that smug cheney who never served sends more of our boys off to war. I think UW has found his way. Courageous guys like UW and ED who know what war is all about now have the opportunity to work together to get us out of this mess. The Mea Culpa is a great dance step Karen. Your intentions were the best but the intel was not good and the leadership flat our sucked.
