No, no, that's not what I'm saying. They are the National RIFLE Association. But the 2nd is the Amendment that puts teeth into the other nine parts of the Bill of Rights.

I doubt for instance, that the NRA has any position at all about abortion or the Ten Commandments in a courthouse.

The Board of Directors has a lot of input into the political recommendations they publish at election time. As do various regional committees that feed info to NRA HQ and the ILA. I can't speak to your local issues because I know nothing about them. But, you can make changes in your area by talking to your local NRA representatives and by voting for Board members that will represent YOU. ('Course, you have to be a Life Member to vote. Ever consider upgrading your membership?)

Bottom line is that they aren't a Republican organization, they endorse pro-gun Dems, too. Sadly, those are few and far between.
