Fact #3: There are currently no magic bullets to meaningfully decarbonize civilizations energy requirements enough to affect global climate and there won't be for some decades to come, no matter how much church members, the MSM and politicians pontificate to the contrary.

"No silver bullets, but lots of silver BBs...
10 silver BBs...replaces 100% of electricity, 50 % of transportation fuels in 15 years. If I have added their numbers correctly, cuts all GHG and 13 mil BPD of oil...

Tidal power alone can give us 5 times what the world currently uses. Conservation alone will give a 35% cutback. Turn off your car engine while you wait for your kid to get out of school.

Fact #4: The ONLY way to substantially lower atmospheric CO2 levels, without destroying the world's economy, is through deploying CO2 capture and sequestration technologies. They do exist. I wonder if and when any flavor of church is going to wake up and start worshipping there....

Well, if 50 mpg cars and renewable electricity ruins the economy, so be it. GM thought higher standards would; now Toyota is the biggest car company in the world.
My daughter is doing a research paper on sequestration. Hopefully she will have a pdf of it I can post.

The Russians, Americans, French, and British use to air test hydrogen bombs in the 50's and 60's.

That stopped.

Any idea why?
