I did just that. I approached him while he was mowing his grass, extended my hand and introduced myself. I asked him if he had heard about someone placing spikes in this lot next to him and he said the police have already spoken with him about it. I said I appreciated that, I was just going to all the neighbors around the lot asking if they might have seen anything because my daughter and her friend were walking the evening of Good Friday and one pierced through her running shoe and into her foot. He collapsed on the ground. I continued to tell him that his has gone far beyond popping tires on golf carts, this has injured a child. He said oh my God, I had no idea. After that he really clammed up. Said he really doesn't know much about what's happening, doesn't like the golfers cutting through the lot because they drive on his driveway and that's not the lot owners property.

I know it's hard to believe, but I was very cordial and very non-threatening until the end of the conversation. That was when I expressed my intent to take up the hunt if the police are stumped. I told this person that my husband and I were prepared to hire an individual who has more time to devote to finding the person who did this as well as not having the constraints as the police in getting information and people to talk. He came close to fainting at that point. I extended my hand and he kept looking at the ground, I said to have a good day and left.
