petterfy indicated he will sell 12.5% of the stock he holds on each of the next 7, one year anniversaries... so, they do plan to be a regular issuer, although these are of course owner shares and therefore nondilutive... i'm presuming the future sales are because some of his grandkids may have college tuitions to pay...

carl... if you go to the openipo website they list some of the recent deals they've done... most seem tiny..$20M+/- with only a few lg deals, goog the most notable. it would seem that this method works if a) there is small supply of stock to sell or b) if the company's story is pretty clearcut and desireable... and doesn't require a lot of hands-on selling (i.e. wining & dining) by the sweaty hamfisted denizens of the street. i am hopeful that ib will help embolden more companies to go this route as it seems a lot less open to the typical jockeying and backroom negotiating that certain coastal new england bastions of mutual fundmuckery have become renown.
