My cousin was a SF medic. I've been to at least three of his weddings, so I'm sure SF training is deficient in some areas. I didn't say courage fortitude and bravery makes them luvable, hugable and perfect. :o) Will say this, the divorce rate in SF is so bad right now, HQ quit keeping statistics

Many Moose, I'm not so sure it is so much a deficiency in SF training as it is a clash of cultures. My Grandfather (WWI); father (WWII & Korea) and uncles (WWII) were mission first type soldiers. This was back in the day where if you were told to tell no one, you told NO ONE, not even your family. I am sure this attitude was carried on into their work habits, especially since not many wives worked back then. But now we have an evolving new societal culture which has been brewing for a number of years. School systems outlawing tag, dodge ball, no teacher comments in red ink etc. And yet, SF training has become more and more intense and extensive. SF's scope has gone far beyond just sneaking around in the jungle or forest to wipe out targets. They now have to learn languages, customs and how to win over and assimilate the locals. IMHO, it would be most difficult to balance SF training; mission and strategies with instantly turning a switch to become a Mr. Rogers type family person. Jak
