Smears and lies are part and parcel of Presidential Campaigns.

You don't think that little reconfiguration of that 80's commercial putting Hillary's face on the Big Screen droning on before somebody throws a sledge hammer at it wasn't a SMEAR from Obama's camp?

Probably the WORST smears and lies ever used against a Presidential Candidate were the ones used against our 2nd President, John Adams. The guy that "paid for and orchestrated" those smears and lies was Adam's OWN Vice President, Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson won the next Presidential election "against" Adams.

So...the smears and lies thing ain't nothin' new.

She seems to be ahead in most of the early primary states, so I'm not sure you're right about that.

If you think back to what the "perceived sentiment" about Bush was leading up to the 2004 election, I don't think you would have thought that joker had a snowball's chance in hell to get re-elected, but he did.
