Gus > Socialist Party leader Francois Hollande appealed for calm, warning the violence could trigger a heavy police clampdown. 'They are playing into the hands of those who want more order, who want to be tougher,' he said. 'There can be disappointment, anger, frustration, but the only way to respond is at the ballot box.'

But that won't help much if they put another Pelosi/Clinton-look-alike as a candidate. If they are so unhappy about the result they should have expressed their frustration with the weakness of their own candidate before the election and not with Sharky, who everyone knows is a shit.

"Sharky won handsomely"

I keep hearing that phrase, yet when I look at the number, 57%, against 43%, I would not describe that as "handsomely".

It seems to me there is a very large opposition, and as you know, the electorate is rightfully fickle, and can change their minds very very quickly.

So, I would think Sarko would have to keep these numbers in mind and be constrained by them if he is to avoid conflict which could grow in intensity.
