An update on the spike guy.

This morning, at around 6:30 am, the officer that has been working on this case was able to finally have a face to face with the guy and was able to get a written confession out of him.

The officer came over to our house at 7:55 am and showed the confession to my husband. I was too busy snoring loud enough to wake everyone but the dead so I wasn't able to talk with the officer personally.<g>

The fellow just couldn't take it any more he said. He never meant anyone to get hurt, he just wanted to cause the golfers to find another route from the course to their property.

The officer will present the confession to the D.A. and charges will be drawn up.

I'm not an attorney, this is just what I think will happen. I think with a decent attorney, he'll get probation and a fine. Might even have to pay restitution for the doctor bills and new tires. He has claimed he's on disability. My belief is a defense attorney can find a dozen ways to show his client was mentally distraught because if this and add to it, the golfers, maybe even blame the prescriptions he's been taking on this lack of judgement. But, like I said, I'm not an attorney so what I think doesn't really matter here. It's only my opinion.

Also, I believe he'll be leaving the neighborhood soon. I can't imagine him staying here. Houses on the golf course go at a premium and he's gonna need the money for his defense.

I hope this experience as well as the prospect of facing some jail time, will keep him from doing something like this again.
