I am not afraid of this grouping per se, as I think it can be a force for good in the world. But please note, even though it is designed to offset US power in the region, what it really is is an anti-radical/muslim association of powers. The stans and other moderate states welcome. But nukes in pak and iran hands requires multiple deterrence and this association of india/china/russia could serve as a second deterrent to either one or the other states. Thats actually good for the US because post iraq, we will be considered a paper tiger of awhile at least. Bush will be gone in less than two years and US policy with all three states should improve post bush.
