I think the iranians will go as far as they go peddling their influence in the mideast but controlling the mostly sunni mideast is a long shot. I think the chaos that the war in iraq has caused has helped iran gain influence but i think that they are not totally unreasonable and will at some point realize that to continue the violence in iraq is counterproductive especially if the US leaves. US is focal point for much of the violence. Without us there, perhaps things get better not worse as CW suggests. OR perhaps they ratchet up for a brief time forcing the folks there to come to their senses. mike
