Michael,

If you don't want to know the truth, then just say so..

The Weekly Standard article carried a number of links to Bill Roggio's "Fourth Rail" blog. He's IN IRAQ, while you and I sit comfortably here in "Ft. Livingroom". And Bill has been PROVEN to be a credible observer of events and trends taking place in Iraq.

Along with links to Bill's reports, they linked to other sources for their article. Go back and look at them instead of just "shooting the messenger".

Now if you think you know more than those sources do, that's fine.. You have that right. But that's not analysis.. That biased propaganda, or just a refusal to recognize and accept reality.

The trend is clear (for the moment). AQ in Iraq is being shown the door by the Iraqi Sunni population. This is the first step (in a series of long ones) wherein Sunni and Shi'a Iraqis come to the reconciliation table and act more along nationalist lines, than along religious ones.

I'm hoping the trend continues, but I have no illusions that it will happen tomorrow, or even this year. But every journey begins with the first step. And if, in the commencement of that journey, we're able to unify Sunnis and Shi'as against our enemy, Al Qai'da, then I count that as a victory.
